What to do while you wait
If you have heard nothing and are unsure whether your referral arrived, the first step is to contact the clinician who referred you, who can confirm what was sent and to whom. If your symptoms are getting worse while you wait, seek urgent care rather than waiting for the appointment — difficulty breathing, chest pain, severe pain, fever with spreading redness, uncontrolled bleeding, or a lesion that is growing rapidly.
